Job Description
Seeking a motivated full-time field installation supervisor for theatrical installation projects in the NYC Metro area and as needed worldwide. Position based in NYC for a manufacture and install stage curtains, counterweight and motorized rigging systems, theatrical lighting, dimming and control equipment, a complete line of expendables and hardware, as well as custom theatrical equipment.. Qualified applicants will have strong communication and problem solving skills, along with strong commitment to safety and commitment to a quality finished project installation. Willingness to travel, theatrical rigging experience, drivers license, and basic computer skills (word, excel) are required. Candidates must be able to lift 50 pounds and be comfortable at heights. Installation supervisors work along side local crews and are expected to be "hands-on" due to the specialized nature of our work
Primary duties include but are not limited to:
•Work collaboratively with the Project Manager before and during installations to prepare tool lists, and to address field questions, coordination, additional work orders, etc..
•Maintain daily log of job site work, time sheets, expense reports, work tickets, and material purchased in the field
•Coordinate with the project jobsite's superintendent / GC and other building trades to coordinate on site work sequences daily to maintain project workflow.
•Perform detailed layout for installations using site benchmarks and survey marks and mark-up in detail all field revisions and modifications to install drawings for Project Manager to prepare As-Built drawings
•Have knowledge of and be responsible for all tools and equipment supplied for use during installation
•Maintain appropriate crew size in field, arrange for any layoffs with Payroll and coordinate with Union representatives on site for smooth work flow or any added labor requirements.
•Enforce all job site safety standards for PPE and site behavior
•Act as on-site Competent Person as assigned and train local labor on standards, safety protocols and job site safety requirements
Requirements
High school degree or equivalent and 5 years of supervisory Theatrical industry experience -OR-
•Bachelors degree and 1-3 years of Theatrical industry experience OR
•Masters degree in Technical Theater (or Construction Management field, with relevant theatrical experience)
•Driver's License (required)
