Accounting Manager

SNELLING is looking for an experienced, degreed finance & accounting professional to join a local company as their Accounting Manager.

Job Summary: The Accounting Manager oversees daily operations within the accounting department to ensure accurate financial reporting, regulatory compliance, and effective internal controls. This leadership role involves supervising staff, managing core financial processesincluding AP, AR, and the general ledgerand supporting budgeting and forecasting. The Manager provides strategic insights to senior leadership to maintain the organization's financial health and drive continuous process improvements. This is an in-office, onsite role located in Tyler, TX.

This position will be a direct hire, meaning that SNELLING would work with you through the consideration and interview process and if an offer is extended, employment would begin on the client employer's payroll as their employee. Key Responsibilities:

  1. Operational Oversight: Manage daily accounting functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger maintenance, and bank reconciliations.
  2. Financial Closing: Lead month-end and year-end close processes to ensure timely and accurate reporting.
  3. Reporting & Analysis: Prepare and analyze financial statements, reports, and forecasts in compliance with internal and external standards.
  4. Internal Controls: Develop and enforce accounting policies and procedures in accordance with GAAP.
  5. Financial Planning: Manage budgeting, cash flow forecasting, and variance analysis to support strategic decision-making.
  6. Audit & Tax: Coordinate with external auditors, prepare audit schedules, and oversee compliance with tax regulations and filings.
  7. Process Improvement: Identify and implement opportunities for automation and efficiency gains within accounting workflows.
  8. Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with operations, HR, and executive leadership on special projects and financial matters.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration is required. A Master's degree or CPA certification is preferred.
  • Experience: 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including at least 2 years in a supervisory or managerial role.
  • Industry Knowledge: Experience in manufacturing, construction, or a related industry is a significant plus.
  • Technical Proficiency: Advanced skills in Microsoft 365 and strong knowledge of GAAP.
  • Soft Skills: Excellent organizational, communication, and time management abilities, with a strict commitment to maintaining confidentiality.
