Scope of WorkThe Special Projects Superintendent is the first-line supervisor responsible for managing crews involved in the installation, alteration, addition, and/or repair of electrical systems, conductors, materials, and associated equipment on a wide range of specialized construction projects. This individual serves as the primary jobsite supervisor on assigned construction, retrofit, or tenant improvement projects, ensuring the successful execution of unique or complex scopes of work within schedule and quality expectations.Primary Duties & ResponsibilitiesLead and supervise all Walker field trades assigned to special electrical construction projects.Collaborate with the Project Manager on take-offs and working estimates to define scope and manpower needs.Plan and coordinate work assignments for lead personnel; ensure timely availability of materials, tools, equipment, workforce, and project information.Develop and manage work schedules and man-loading charts aligned with project goals and timelines.Direct crews in the installation of:Electrical feedersEquipment such as pumps, motors, and generatorsControl and distribution systems including switchgear, relays, and circuit breaker panelsLighting systems, outlets, and related connections and terminationsMonitor ongoing work to maintain quality, safety, and efficiency; coordinate activities with other trades as required.Perform hands-on work when necessary, either for training purposes or to support productivity.Handle all required jobsite documentation, including daily reports, time sheets/tickets, safety forms, and official correspondence.Lead by example in promoting a safe work environment:Ensure team members are properly trained for assigned dutiesEnforce Walker's safety standards and proceduresAssist with investigation and reporting of accidents or safety incidents on siteMinimum RequirementsMinimum 3 years of experience as a Foreman or Superintendent on electrical construction projectsSolid mechanical aptitude with strong math and English communication skillsWorking knowledge of electrical theory and application in jobsite installationsAvailability to work occasional overtime when neededActive TDLR Journeyman's LicenseValid Driver's License and reliable transportationHigh School Diploma, GED, or equivalent preferredWork EnvironmentThis role operates on active job sites with exposure to clients, subcontractors, and skilled trades professionals. Project types may vary and often include fast-track or complex buildouts requiring adaptability.Physical DemandsRegularly required to talk and hear, with frequent standing, walking, handling tools, and reaching.Must be capable of accessing all areas of a construction site in varied climates and terrain.Ability to visualize and interpret two- and three-dimensional plans and blueprints.Frequent handling and lifting of materials or equipment up to 50 lbs.Repetitive physical motions, including:Climbing ladders (step stools, 8'–10', extension)Navigating stairways (three or more flights)Bending, kneeling, and crawling (20–50 times per day)Reaching, grasping, and operating tools with hands (up to 50 times daily)Must possess visual capabilities including focus, color differentiation, and depth perceptionAbility to operate or ride in personal or commercial vehicles as requiredNoteThis job description outlines the general responsibilities and expectations of the Special Projects Superintendent.
